Yes, this product can be adjusted to use as a radius. TrimMaster L-Shape products can be used to follow curved edges for floor or wall transitions. It is important to use metal snips and clip out the outer edge of the circle/holes on the anchor leg to facilitate a gradual bend without creasing the profile edge. The L-Shape trim can handle most standard architectural curves however it will not work with small or tight radius situation without causing a bend or kink in the main profile. It cannot be bent into a form a 90 or 45 degree bend. Consider using a miter cut for those applications or simply use a butt joint.

The U-Shape (Universal Reducer) does indeed have a straight edge grout line feature. Perhaps the angle of the picture you referred does to illustrate it.
That is not what the product is designed for. It is a similar profile for those types of projects. We have seen a lot of creative uses of these profiles, but once again, not what it was designed for thus unable to officially recommend this as a use.

One of the benefits of PVC trims is they are easy to cut. The best way to cut plastic profiles is with a fine-toothed rotary saw. The top edge of this trim is 9/16" wide. It should work well for any gap smaller than that width
It will depend on the format you are using is it a tile that will be glued on, a tile with thin set and how much, usually I would use 3/8” if 1/4” tile and 1/8 to 3/16 grout

You can use power tools to cut this material but I found using a hack saw and going nice and slow was better for me so I wouldn’t scratch it up!
Very few companies do, most tile installers cut at a 45 degree and install.
No they do not, to go around corners you can cut a 45 degree angle on the edging trim with a miter saw with a blade for cutting aluminum, a hacksaw and a miter box or a angle grinder with a thin metal blade for aluminum. There are videos on the internet that show each of these styles for cutting tile edging trim.
I am answering my own question because I was informed it could not be deleted. I was not thinking about also covering the top edge of the extended tile. I realized that then that both trim parts would be cut to form a closed corner. No cap needed, lol.

I would recommend leaving a grout line when doing a miter cut to ensure no water can seep between the cut.
Very easy to miter, I used aviation snips to cut, and fit. If you have a powered miter saw that cut aluminum with no muss, no fuss!

As I recall when last purchasing this product, there were different shades available, including chrome (shiny), a non-shiny satin-type shade (not sure if this was labeled nickel or chrome), white, and bronze-like. The selection seemed to vary from store to store. Sorry that I cannot be more specific but it's been awhile since I last made the purchase.

You could install the tiles right over the counter top but you would need to put spacers so that you have a joint like the rest of the tiles grout joints. I usually prefer to use the tile edging right over the counter top (with no spacers) and then install the tiles. It makes a much nicer looking job, in my opinion.

The 3/8 dimension in the name of this edging refers to the thickness of the tile it it intended for. You can use this for a 1/4" thick tile, but the edge will be taller than the thickness of the tile. It would look and little better if you use something closer to 1/4" or perhaps 5/16". The grout will fill the gap, but it will be taller than the tile.

You can use screws that catch part of the bottom trim, but best to place a thin coat of thin set, place trim and then apply normal thin set and place tile in it.
Yes I used it between my vinyl plank and tile I dont like transitions that stick up higher than the flooring to stump ties on so this worked for my application perfectly I wish I had a better picture though
I have never used it for this purpose, however, if it was fastened down I think it would work fairly well. Keep in mind the thickness of the vinyl in relation to the thickness of the metal edge and the fact most vinyl flooring is installed as a floating floor which would allow for a little movement.
I actually do not know if this product comes in flat black, I needed it for tile work at the edge of my staircase going down into my basement, the product is solid and it looks very very good and I would definitely recommend this product to anybody, as far as different colors that it isManufactured in I’m not very sure I was looking for the satin nickel finish and that was the first I seen I did not inquire about any other color, but like I said this product is 100% solid and I would recommend it to any tile installer
It doesn't really transition to a set lower height. It offers a transition between two different materials, like linoleum to carpet. If you tilt it, you can transition from one height to another, but it really depends on your installation.

I wanted PERFECT miters because I used it on a bathroom backsplash that will be under bright lighting. I used my radial arm saw with a fine-tooth non-ferrous metal cutting blade & it worked great. Extremely smooth straight cuts. It was a bit of a challenge holding the pieces because my saw only angles to the right - but a piece of 3/8" plywood fits under it when you have to turn it "upside down" & a piece of 3/4" fits if you need to stand it up like to cut an inside corner miter.

I installed the perforated side of the trim on top of the cement board, under the tile. the sloped part sits on top of the carpet that abuts the tile to cover the edge of the carpet. depending on your application, the sloped part could butt up against the edge of the lower floor.

I set mine in place with the first tile. I then just applied the thinset as i went along with the additional tile as I went. the holes in the trim are large enough i could get a bond to the wall behind, locking in the trim.

Personally, I would not use this in a shower since I don't know how you would make the seam water tight. This edging is made to fill cover a gap between two flat surfaces. There are other Schluter trims made for corners and edges such as shower niches.

I use a standard chop saw with a good, carbide tipped blade.
All my cuts were inside corners. I used a grinder with a cutting wheel for the cuts.

I know that it is solid out of the way through and it is Aluminum. I used it on my backsplash. I clean all the time and it holds up in my opinion.

You can do both. You can cut it at a straight cut, or cut a 90 degree "V" or pie piece out of the back area, with the holes in it. You will also have to make a slit in the front/face.
But If you have a window, then the edge/side will butt up against the window frame, and you may not need it there, since this is made to be the bottom lip/resting point, or cover the edge of the tiles when you either don't have any edge pieces, or don't want to use them.

I've tried 2 methods of creating a corner:
1.) I cut away a "v" shape on the flat portion and bent it into a 90 degree angle. This did't work well at all, it created a gnarled appearance.
2.) I then plugged in my miter saw and cut it at a 45 degree angle, I then used tiny bit of caulk and the corner was pretty much perfect.

No, The flange holes is part of the structure it’s self, when you spread the thin set mortar then stick the bar down on it the mortar uses up through the holes in the flange and then hardens and that is what gives it most of its structure, so no I would recommend not to cut off the flange

you'd have to ask paint what grade of pain to use to paint aluminum so that it lasts but its really not needed as all you will see on this edge is about an 1/8 of an inch edge
Yes, depending on the application. I painted mine flat black which is the color I needed but was unable to find. I used Rustoleum spray paint which has held up fine so far. My application was for trimming around a gas fireplace where the only time the trim is touched is when it gets dusted. I do not know how the paint would hold up in an application where the trim is touched or walked on frequently.
Probably won’t stick well. If you must, i would rough upnwith sand paper and prime with oil based primer.

This trim comes in various depths to suit just about any tile thickness. I suggest you bring your tile sample to a local HD store and set the tile into a strip to determine which size is best for your application.

They only have the quarter round trim for outside corners only. For inside corners you would space your tiles like your grout joints and finish them with grout and caulk.

I am a DIYer. I did not use it in a wet area, but seems like that would not be a problem. Installed with grout and tile should be waterproof. Should work the same as Schluter.

I would NOT cut it the way I did...... using a cut off saw with a finish blade. I would use a cutoff saw with a metal / abrasion blade. I would also use a metal hand saw with a mitre jig, it would be slower but cheaper if you don't own a cutoff saw

We used the same glue to attach to the wall that we used to set the tiles instead using mortar. Worked great and dried fast.
Yes I bought last week and installed in the than an hour and the finished work look great..
You morar it in with thinset. Mortar through the holes and place tile on top of it when you set the tile.

It is cemented down with the same thin-set used to lay the tile. Just line it up on the substrate & trowel over it That"s why it has those holes in it..Or I suppose you could use mastic if your inside.I never have .

Can I use this where my tile will meet back counter top? I have a solid surface counter top and want to install subway tile. The wall is not straight so the counter top has gaps so I thought this might work to make the tile straight and help cover the gap.

It says "Vertical leg covers 1-1/2 in. sub-assembly". That is from the time installing surface to the bottom edge. So the width in the face as you asked, it is about 1-1/2 plus 3/8 plus the thickness of the materials x 2 to be accurate. It is about 2 inch. But I guess the 1-1/2 is a more important dimension that covers your current thickness of the edge ( sub-assembly). If you want to cover more, check out Schluter Rondec-Step also carried by HD, they have 1-1/2 and 2-1/4. That brand carries very detailed product information than this brand.

Depends on how thick your tile is. I used it with ~ 1/4" thick tile, and between the tile and the mortar bed, the tile stuck out past the trim bull nose

Not sure what else if available, depends on the thickness of the tile and there will also be some added thickness of the thinset. My mosaic glass tile was 5/16" thick and the edge is just barely wider seems like the right fit for my tile.

The glass tile might be slightly thin for it, but should work. It will not rust.
I'm not sure if I would use this product were it was constantly in contact or exposed to water. My guys installed it on the outside of the shower doors as an edge for the tile and they extended the tile about 3 inches outside the door. So there will be limited contact with water for this product. I guess you could put a clear sealer on the trim after the installation and just do it every so often to prevent rust.

It is aluminum, so rusting should not be an issue. I have used it with both ceramic and glass tile without any issues. Just make sure to remove any mastic or grout immediately. I actual mask it off with blue painters tape before grouting.

They make special trim for curves which you can bend this T edge is made to fit as a transition between 2 level/hard surfaces tile to tile tile to wood etc
