Tile Edge Trim

Tile edge trim finishes and protects the exposed edge of a tile installation. It sets into the thinset alongside the tile, covers the raw cut edge, and gives the run a clean termination where it meets a wall, a countertop, a doorway or another surface.

TrimMaster manufactures tile edging in aluminum and rigid PVC across five profiles — bullnose, L-shaped, square, T-shaped and reducer — in heights from 5/16 inch to 1 inch, in 98-1/2 inch and 120 inch lengths. Every aluminum profile includes our patented Straight Edge Grout Line, which holds a consistent grout space against the tile without spacers.

BullnoseRounded outer cornerCountertop edges, wall corners, backsplash returns, shower niches
L-ShapedSquare, low-profile edgeFloor-to-wall terminations, transitions to a lower surface, curved edges
SquareCrisp 90° edgeContemporary backsplashes, wall ends, exterior wall corners

Choosing a size: match the trim height to your tile thickness. A 3/8 inch profile suits 3/8 inch (9.5mm) tile. If your tile falls between sizes, size up — trim that sits proud is easier to live with than trim your tile overhangs.

Tile Edging Aluminum or PVC?

Aluminum is the durable choice and the bulk of our range. Powder-coated and anodized finishes hold up to traffic, moisture and cleaning without fading or corroding, and the metal resists the impact that chips an unprotected tile corner. Use it anywhere the edge gets touched, walked on or cleaned regularly.

Rigid PVC costs less, cuts more easily and suits lower-traffic decorative work. It can also be painted with a bonding primer and quality acrylic latex if you need a colour we don’t stock.

One compatibility note worth knowing before you order: our bullnose and square corner pieces are made to pair with the matching aluminum profiles. They will not fit PVC trim, and a square edge cannot be joined to a bullnose.

Corners

Bullnose and square profiles have matching inside and outside corner pieces, sold in two-packs, so you can turn a corner without cutting a mitre.

L-Shaped profiles have no corner pieces. Turn those corners with a mitre cut — a mitre saw fitted with a non-ferrous metal blade gives the cleanest result. The same applies to our bullnose step trim.

Finishes

Current finishes include Satin Silver, Polished Chrome, Matte Black, Satin Gold, Stone Gray, White, Champagne, Mineral Bronze and Clear Anodized. Availability varies by profile and size — the square profile, for example, is not currently offered in black. [VERIFY: confirm this finish list is complete and current before publishing.]

Finish is where most people over-think the decision. Silver and chrome disappear against most tile. Matte black and gold read as deliberate design choices. If you’re matching fixtures, order a sample first — screen colour is not a reliable guide.

Indoor and outdoor

Powder-coated aluminum profiles are specified for interior use. Clear anodized aluminum is suitable for both interior and exterior applications. If your project is exposed to weather, check the finish before you order.

Warranty

Every TrimMaster tile edging profile carries a 10-year wear and finish warranty.

What is tile edge trim used for?

Tile edge trim finishes and protects an exposed tile edge. It’s set into the thinset alongside the tile so the raw cut edge is covered, the corner is protected from chipping, and the run terminates cleanly against a wall, countertop or adjoining surface.

How do I know what size tile trim to buy?

Match the trim height to your tile thickness. A 3/8 inch profile suits 3/8 inch (9.5mm) tile. If your tile sits between two sizes, choose the larger one — trim that stands slightly proud looks intentional, while tile overhanging the trim does not

Do I need spacers with TrimMaster tile trim?

No. Every aluminum profile includes a patented Straight Edge Grout Line that holds a consistent grout space between the trim and the tile, so no separate spacers are required.

Can I use a bullnose corner with square trim?

No. Corner pieces are profile-specific — a square edge cannot be joined to a bullnose. Bullnose and square profiles each have their own matching inside and outside corners, and our corner pieces fit the aluminum profiles rather than the PVC ones.

Are there corner pieces for L-Shaped trim?

No. L-Shaped profiles are mitred at corners rather than joined with a corner piece. Use a mitre saw with a non-ferrous metal blade for a clean cut.
